Mayor Saverino is once again enlisting the Village's 11,000 water customers to compete in the National Mayor's Water Conservation Challenge hosted by the Wyland Foundation. Last year the Village of Carol Stream finished with an impressive top ten ranking, the ONLY Illinois city to do so. This year you can help Carol Stream go all the way to Number One in water conservation efforts! From April 1st - 30th, you can make an online water conservation pledge at www.mywaterpledge.com which will allow you to select indoor and outdoor activities to reduce your daily water consumption. At the end of the 30-day competition, the city with the highest percentage of water customers who make pledges will be eligible to win energy saving prizes. If every Village water customer reduced their April water consumption by just 2%, the Village would save 1.8 million gallons of water. So come April 1st, its GAME ON for our water customers to show the nation the "Can Do" Carol Stream Spirit in action. So let's save money and energy, reduce water system delivery costs, and preserve every drop of our fresh water for a better future.
