Per this state regulation, solid waste haulers are not allowed to collect and/or dispose of any of the banned electronics as solid waste.  Residents and businesses are thereby prohibited from placing any of the banned electronic components in a waste collection container that include a refuse can, commercial dumpster and recycling toter.  For information on electronics recycling available in DuPage County follow this link

Please note that the IEPA has authority to enforce the landfill ban and will issue fines up to $7,000 per occurrence for any and all observed violations.

In addition to recycling as a disposal option, residents and businesses that have unwanted electronics in fine operating condition may want to donate those components to a non-profit charity for resale.
