    If you are lucky enough to live near land that still supports wildlife, you may meet one of your neighbors, the coyote. By learning about local wildlife, humans and animals can peacefully coexist.

    The preliminary results of the Carol Stream Municipal Electric Aggregation Referendum saw 60% of local voters who went to the polls on November 6th and weighed in on the electric aggregation referendum vote ‘Yes’ on the ballot petition to gave the Village authority to bundle electric supply for its 15,100 homeowners and approximately 75 small businesses.  The next step in the aggregation process includes adopting a Plan of Operations and Governance which is scheduled for the November 19th regular Village Board meeting.

    ‘Shopping Local’ has a tremendous impact on the local economy and in Carol Stream, sales tax revenues comprise more than 37% ($7.56 Million) of the Village’s General Operating Funds.


    The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire Coleoptera:Buprestidae), which is native to Asia, is a bright green beetle, no larger than a penny.

    This town was not, as many believe, named for a local waterway. Jay Stream, who founded the town in the 1950s, named it after his daughter. (Carol Stream is still around, occasionally participating in town parades.) An award-winning park district,
