We are inviting residential homeowners to decorate their front yards in frightening fashion in preparation for the 8th Annual Carol Stream Halloween Decorating Contest. The Village challenges residents to put together some spooktacular displays for the upcoming holiday.  Themes for our Halloween Decorating contest are: 

• BIG PUMPKIN (Traditional Décor)
• FAMILY FUN (Kid-Friendly Décor) 
• JUDGES FAVORITE (Best in Show)

Residents can nominate their favorite home(s) by e-mail at decoratingcontest@carolstream.org and must include the street address or addresses in the body and the phrase Halloween Decorating Contest included in the subject line. The deadline to forward nominations is Friday, October 21st.  Judges will visit nominated properties on October 24th and 25th and make their award recommendations. The Halloween Story Map is now live! Homeowners from winning displays will be recognized at a Village Board meeting.
