The Human Resources Department provides support to all Village departments. Primary functions include the recruitment, selection, training and retention of quality employees, as well as monitoring the Village's personnel practices to insure compliance with the ever changing provisions of labor and employment laws. In addition, this department is responsible for the administration of compensation and benefit programs, collective bargaining, personnel policy development, and assisting supervisory staff with day to day employee issues. Assistance is also provided to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners relating to recruitment, promotions and other personnel issues impacting sworn police personnel.
