Village residents must have their dogs licensed by the Village and DuPage County once they reach 6 months of age. Written evidence of inoculation must be presented as proof before making a dog license application. An annual $3 license fee is charged for male and spayed female dogs while a $5 license fee is charged for unspayed female dogs. No more than three adult dogs may reside permanently at any residence.

Village ordinance requires pet owners to be in control of their dog(s) at all times and further prohibits dog owners from walking their dogs without a secure leash no longer than 6 feet. The ordinance also requires dog owners to immediately remove their pet's excrement from public or private property. Failure to comply could result in violation citations.
