Sanitary Sewer

DESIGN STANDARDS 

The design, materials, installation, and testing of any proposed connection or extension to the Village’s water distribution system shall be in accordance with the 35 Ill. Adm. Code 370.

PERMITS REQUIRED

PIPE FOR SANITARY SEWER

  • DESIGN FLOW. The Sanitary Sewage Flow per capita used in developing Design Flow for residential areas shall be computed using the formula provided however, that the maximum design flow not exceed 400 gallons per capita per day and shall not be less than 250 gallons per capita per day. The maximum permitted design for an eight (8) inch sewer is 1,125 P.E., 2,796 P.E. for ten (10) inch and 4,284 P.E. for twelve (12) inch sewers.

    Sanitary Sewer - Design Flow

  • SECTION 370.320(i)(1) SIZE. Service sewers and fittings shall be a minimum of 4 6 inches in diameter, but shall not be less than the diameter of the plumbing pipe from the building.

MANHOLES

  • DIAMETER. The minimum diameter of manholes shall be 48 inches for pipe sizes up to and including 12 inches and 60 inches for pipe sizes over 12 inches.

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

The materials, installation, and testing shall be in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Water & Sewer Construction in Illinois, 8th Edition (SSWS). Local amendments to Division III are as follows:
