The Criminal Investigation Unit is comprised of one commander, one sergeant and six investigators.

Members receive specialized training in the areas of:

  • Sex Offender Enforcement
  • Illinois Crimes Against Children
  • Interviewing and Interrogations
  • Homicide Investigations
  • Cyber Crimes including Identity Theft

The investigators have specific tasks that are unique to their designated assignment.  The unit also has two investigators who are assigned to the Illinois State Police narcotics task forces: the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group (DuMeg) and Narcotics and Currency Interdiction Team (NARCINT). DuMeg focuses its resources on combating street level narcotic sales which impact communities within DuPage County, while NARCINT deploys interdiction techniques to stop and seize large amounts of illegal drugs that are transported to the Chicagoland Metropolitan Area.
