Reflective signs with ID numbers have been installed on all of the Village’s streetlight poles. If you notice a streetlight that is out, on during daylight, or cycling on and off, please follow these steps:

• Document the pole number (see below for an example) and address (address or nearest intersection)
• Note the issue
• Call (630) 871-6260 to report the problem

Typically street light problems are resolved in just a few days. Please be aware that if there are a series of lights out, the problem may be due to an underground cable fault. Repairing these faults may require tracing and digging-up underground cable, which may take several weeks or more to diagnose and repair.

The Village has been successful in attracting grants and rebates to partially offset some of the project costs due to the energy-efficiency of the new LED fixtures.  We have found that LED streetlights use approximately fifty-percent (50%) less kilowatt hours than the older light fixtures, and require less frequent maintenance.
